A two-hour private charter out of the Kihei Boat Ramp for up to 14 guests. The price is for the boat, not per person, so a family or two couples travelling together often pay less than they would on separate seats. You pick the departure - 7:00 a.m. or 9:30 a.m. - and because the crater is only a 15-minute run from Kihei, almost the entire charter is snorkel time inside Molokini. Snorkel gear and in-water instruction are included, and in flat conditions the captain can usually add the crater's back wall.
Honest trade-off: it is still a rigid-hull raft - wet, fast, no shade and no bathroom. Guests must be 8 or older, and children between 8 and 15 must be accompanied. Larger groups or longer trips are quoted separately; ask the desk.
