Redline Rafting — 2 Hour Molokini Snorkel

Location: Maui, Hawaii

Duration: 2 hours

From: $139.00 per person

The fastest, cheapest way to snorkel inside Molokini Crater - and one of the smallest boats that goes. Redline runs a rigid-hull raft out of the Kihei Boat Ramp, the closest launch to the crater. The ride out is about 15 minutes, so nearly the whole trip is spent in the water: roughly 60 minutes of snorkel time inside the crater with only 11 other guests aboard. Snorkel gear, fins, float belts, reef-safe sunscreen and in-water instruction are included, and the crew runs a guided fish identification swim for anyone who wants it. Two departures daily: 7:00 a.m. and 9:30 a.m. Take the 7:00 a.m. if you can - Molokini is calmest and clearest before the trade winds build, and the later trip costs $10 more. Honest trade-off: a raft is wet, loud and has no shade, no bathroom and nowhere to hide from the sun. Guests must be 8 or older. If you want a stable deck, a restroom and a meal, book a catamaran instead - it will cost more and take most of your morning.
