Blue Water Rafting leaves from the Kihei Boat Ramp, minutes from the Kihei and Wailea resorts and the closest launch point to the crater. Three hours, two snorkel stops: inside Molokini Crater first, then a shoreline reef where Hawaiian green sea turtles feed. Small rigid-hull raft, so you are in the water quickly and away from the fleet of larger catamarans. Snorkel gear, water and juice are included.
Honest trade-off: a raft means wet, windy and no shade, no restroom and no galley. Children must be at least 4. If you want breakfast, a slide and a stable deck, book one of the Māʻalaea catamarans - it is a longer, more expensive day.
